In April 2022, Yann Masseyeff took over Place Vendôme with an ephemeral installation entitled Ligne de Vie (“Line of Life”), a monumental work that affirmed the presence of his practice on the contemporary art scene.

An allegory of time, the work can be read as an ode to the singularity of each individual. Ligne de Vie reflects the human condition through its contradictory relationship with time.

This creation continues the artistic research Yann Masseyeff has pursued for several years. Very quickly, he moved from drawing toward a total commitment to ceramic modeling.

Nourished by a wide range of cultural influences, his three-dimensional tableaux explore countless metamorphoses of clay through an instinctive and spontaneous process, awakening and revealing primitive forms that seem to emerge from our most ancestral memories.
